Oasis – “Let There Be Love”

This is a traditional music video (i.e the band playing their music at a live concert) however this video really stands out in my mind. There are a lot of moments that would make very good photographs, it also does a really good job of making Oasis look really cool, and their concerts look like lots of fun.

I tried to track down a high quality version of this video but did not have any luck. It’s a shame because their are a lot of good details that YouTube quality just can’t show you. Hopefully I’ll find a better version.

Feist – “I Feel it All”

This is a nice “one shot”, or “one take”, or whatever the phrase is for videos that are done with out any cuts, and it is a pretty good song.

You can watch a higher quality version of it on YouTube which I can’t imbed.

If you are lazy, here’s a lower quality version I could embed.

Explaining the Finical Crises

If you are having any trouble getting a clear understanding of what the basic causes of the finical crises are, here are two good explanations.

The first is a two part youtube video is only about 10 minutes long. This is my favorite explanation so far. It’s very well done.

The Crisis of Credit Visualized – Part 1

The Crisis of Credit Visualized – Part 2

The second is from the NPR show “This American Life“. It’s a recent episode called “Bad Bank“. It is longer, but it’s also very entertaining. They go into a little of of the “why” and “how to fix it” too. Personally I find there treatment of those questions wanting, but their explanation of how banks work and what the current problem is, is quite good.

If you read their notes on the show you will find a CSPAN video where Treasury Secretary Tim Geither praises the episode. This make me nervous, I have some serious disagreements with Geither policies. However I suppose that could be considered a sign that the show is just a good explanation of what is going on.

Naturally once you understand these two explinations, it’s time to move into asking more detailed questions about why this happened, and how to fix it. Hopefully I will write some more posts soon hilighting my favorite ideas.

Football Music Videos

I have been a Vikings fan since I was about 9, I’ve watched a lot of football. I knew there was a music video called the Super Bowl Shuffle, performed by the Bears back in the day. I had no idea that was only the tip of the NFL football pseudo rap music videos. Continue reading
